Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Taylor Professional Candy, Jelly, Deep-Fry Dial ThermometerCustomer Review: Defective themometer Summary: 1 Stars
I got the themometer and right away I wanted to use it. I wanted to make sure the themometer was accurate so I clipped the themometer on the side of my pot and set it in 2 1/2 inches of water, tip not touching. I let the water boil and set the timer on for ten minutes ( at ten minutes boiling water should read 212 degrees) After ten minutes it only read 180 degrees so I let it sit another 10 min. still no change, still reads 180 degrees. It was way off from the moment I got it. It is obvious that the company doesn't believe in quality control. Very disappointing. I also noticed that in the discription on the web site it doesn't even tell you that you would have to have at least 4 cups of liquid ( fudge for example) in order for the themometer to even start to read). The tip according to package directions has to be in 2 1/2 inches of liquid. But it still didn't work the themometer was way off, 32 degrees off!!! Don't buy it, it is junk. I thought if I got a more expensive themometer that I wouldn't go wrong. Wrong!! maybe if I had gotten a cheaper model maybe it would have worked.
